TIP: Use IP addresses, MIDAS sometimes spams re-connections, and using hostnames with rapid DNS lookups stresses out the CERN IT people.

Overview:

• The CAEN DAQ runs on issdaqpc
• The ISS array and tape-server run on issdaqpc2

Screen sessions on issdaqpc:

• EXEC -- the control and readout process, /MIDAS/Linux/startup/EXEC, this is a script where the DataSink is selected.
• HTTPD -- the browser GUI, /MIDAS/Linux/startup/HTTPD
• rates -- channel rates, $HOME/scripts/rates_caen.py

Screen sessions on issdaqpc2:

• Tape -- TapeServer
• HTTPD -- browser GUI
• Some others for the ISS array, please fill in!

"CAEN from scratch", read the official TWIKI:

• Make sure the screen sessions and processes are running.
• Go to issdaqpc:8015
• Restore hardware settings
• Make sure the issdaqpc2 TapeServer is running
• Go on the TapeServer
• Go on the Caen DAQ
• Don't do anything while running, best to stop the DAQ to change anything!

• Heimtime goes as NIM to the right-most/second module in channel 10 (starting counting at 0).
